When a business neighborhood joins forces for a higher goal, an ordinary street transforms into an inspiring story of community-wide transformation. Under the organizational baton of EOS KSI and with strong support from key partners—Philip Morris Ljubljana and JP Voka Snaga—as many as 27 companies and institutions from Letališka and neighboring Leskoškova cesta have come together to set a new standard for sustainable cooperation in Slovenia.
This initiative, which is celebrating its third successful edition this year, has expanded even further and attracted new companies, among which we at Derby Group are proud to stand.
Team spirit and rolled-up sleeves in BTC
Our team at the distribution center in BTC enthusiastically got down to work. Together with neighbors from more than 20 participating companies, we took care of cleaning roadside areas, parking lots, and green spaces along both economically highly active streets.
More than 200 employees proved that the business community can act as an exemplary neighborhood of good neighbors. Such actions bear a twofold fruit: not only do we care for nature, but above all, we connect neighboring companies, strengthen ties in the local community, and spread awareness about the importance of sustainable practices.
More than just a cleanup action: networking and sustainable gathering
The comprehensively designed event offered a rich morning and afternoon program that went beyond a classic volunteer action. It began with a morning meeting of management personnel and media representatives over brunch, where B2B networking encouraged a valuable exchange of good sustainability practices.
In the afternoon, teams of colleagues went out into the field and cleaned several kilometers of green spaces, with flawless removal and proper management of the collected waste handled by JP Voka Snaga. After finishing the work, the hardworking hands gathered for a relaxed closing social event in front of the Philip Morris Ljubljana office, where they toasted their shared achievements with great food from a food truck, refreshing drinks, and a good atmosphere. True to the spirit of sustainability, the entire event followed environmental principles by using local food as well as reusable or recyclable packaging and cutlery.
Did you know?
Ljubljana is considered one of the greenest capitals in Europe and boasts exceptional achievements:
-
It was the first European capital to be accepted into the international Zero Waste network.
-
It ranks at the very top of European cities in terms of separately collected waste, as this already exceeds nearly 70% of all collected municipal waste.
A big thank you to the organizers for the top-notch execution, inspiring networking, and wonderful atmosphere! At Derby Group, we are already looking forward to new moments together next year.
