It is with great pleasure that we have supported the Slovenian Caritas humanitarian programme called “Pearls’ vacation,” through which we provided healthy and delicious snacks of Derby® brand bananas for children on their seaside holiday in Portorož.

The “Pearls’ vacation” programme offers children from socially vulnerable environments, families in distress, foster families, and those facing various everyday challenges something that should be taken for granted: a carefree holiday by the sea. This professionally guided holiday provides them with a safe environment where they can momentarily set aside the burdens of daily life, forge new friendships, and simply enjoy the carefree joys of childhood.
The Slovenian rhythm of solidarity – official data demonstrates that the power of connection and volunteering in our region is extraordinary. Within Slovenia’s volunteering sector, which according to the latest annual reports includes over 228.000 active volunteers, the Slovenian Caritas network holds a particularly vital and noble significance. Its programmes engage more than 10.600 dedicated volunteers annually, contributing hundreds of thousands of hours of voluntary work to help thousands of individuals and families. Moreover, roughly 44% of all volunteering hours in Slovenia are dedicated specifically to social activities, confirming that compassion, care for the vulnerable, and solidarity have deep roots in our society.
